You may wonder why any entrepreneur would choose to change the name of his or her business-risking a loss of customer loyalty and getting buried in additional paperwork seem like big negatives. But the practice is actually becoming quite common.
In a recent issue of the United States Postal Service’s Deliver magazine, writer Linda Formichelli discusses six items which can be helpful to consider during a name change. One interesting point was that not all name changes are cut and dry:
“There’s no rule that you have to switch to your new name cold turkey; some businesses change over gradually so customers have a chance to get used to the new name.” The entire story can be viewed at: https://www.delivermagazine.com/the-magazine/2008/10/06/by-any-other-name/ .
