SBDC & CITD staff saw this video on the Wall Street Journal website about “Camp CEO,” a Girl Scouts program that teaches teen girls to be entrepreneurs.
Building on the consumer knowledge that most teens have, the camp guides girls through the product development process, including:
- Birthing a Product - Finding your passion, brainstorming creativity, make journals
- Target Marketing - The magic of developing a buyer for
your product - Time Management Techniques - Organizing tips and how to
get to production - Sales - How to sell without selling
- Promotion/ Advertising - How to tell others about your idea
- Birth your vision with your ads, TV and chosen media campaign
- Work with 10 successful CEO women who will give their trade secrets sharing how they made it with the twists and turns they went through to get there.
Camp CEO sounds pretty cool. But if you don’t quite fit the guidelines to attend this camp, you may consider checking out our Business Resource Center (BRC) at our center in National City. We have books on product development, videos on sales strategies, and data for planning marketing efforts. More information about the BRC is available on our website, or by calling (619) 482-6391.
Have you used the BRC to research topics for your business? Share your experience in the comments section below.
